Yoshkar-Ola Museum of History and Archaeology
About museum
The building of the Museum of History and Archaeology harmoniously blends into the architecture of Yoshkar-Ola, a city located on the banks of the Malaya Kokshaga River. On November 4, 2015, a Children's Museum and Exhibition Center was opened here, becoming a place of learning for children and adults, as well as a venue for various theatrical performances, concerts, master classes, and quest-excursions. In 2018 the exhibitions 'Archaeology of the Mari Volga Region: Culture, People, State' and 'The Mari Land: Milestones of History' were opened here. In 2021 the exhibition 'Ethnoarchaeology: from Imniscaris to Mari' was opened, allowing visitors to see unique medieval jewelry and reconstructions of Mari women's costumes. On the 3rd floor the exhibition 'The Mari Land: Milestones of History' is presented, allowing visitors to trace the historical path of the region.
