Lobnya City History Museum
About museum
The Lobnya Museum has existed for more than 40 years. In 2021 it moved into a new, spacious building. It features four halls with sections where visitors can learn about the ancient and modern history of the town. Every year the museum holds "Museum Week." During this event visitors can see various exhibitions: "Russian izba", "Traditional household life", "Soviet apartment, 1950s", "Lake Kiovo — a federal natural monument" and others. The museum displays materials about the heroic defense of Moscow in December 1941, the combat history of units and formations distinguished on the Lobnya line, as well as documents, personal belongings, and archaeological finds. It also presents household utensils and everyday objects from ancient times to the present. The museum offers guided tours, exhibitions, and master classes, and also publishes books, articles, brochures, and guidebooks.
