Museum of the History of Don Folk Culture, Crafts and Everyday Life
About museum
\r\nThe Museum of the History of Don Folk Culture, Crafts and Everyday Life is located at 11 Rabochaya Street. It was opened on September 19, 2003, and is part of the State Budgetary Cultural Institution of the Rostov Region 'Volgodonsk Ecological-Historical Museum'. It houses a monument of vernacular Don architecture of the early 19th century — the structure known as a 'Cossack kuren', restored to its original form. This building has a cellar, a zakamora foundation, a wraparound balcony with balusters, and two porches with tympana and carvings. The museum's exhibitions consist of items that tell about the life, everyday routines and labor activities of the Don Cossacks, as well as the trades and crafts that existed on the Don land in the 18th — early 20th centuries. This architectural monument holds the same value as other historical monuments.
