About museum
Zavarka Museum-Gallery is a contemporary exhibition space for adults and children in the historic center of Samara.
The museum is located in the house that belonged to the merchant Mikhail Dementyevich Mashtakov and is a unique example of Samara's wooden architecture. Much of the building has been restored and preserved in its original form, including pre-revolutionary staircases and wooden shingles, wallpaper and fragments of plaster, parquet flooring and the attic area.
The gallery's interior design emphasizes historical artifacts. Throughout the year the museum hosts exhibitions, lectures, tours, workshops, concerts and festivals. The main focus of its scientific and exhibition activities is the study of the architectural heritage of the Samara region.
