Pushkin's Nanny' is a unique place in the world dedicated to the peasant nurse Arina Rodionovna and to the great poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. It was opened on July 3, 1974. The exhibition was created by Nina Ivanovna Granovskaya. Arina Rodionovna was a serf who had a huge influence on Pushkin's upbringing and creative development. The house was built for her by the Hannibal-Pushkin owners in 1795. In the 1950s the house was purchased by Natalya Mikhailovna Nyrkova, who became the initiator of turning it into a museum. The building was restored by the Leningrad Regional Scientific Restoration Workshop.
