Monument-museum Church of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa on the Market
About museum
As part of the architectural complex of Yaroslav's Court is Paraskeva Pyatnitsa — a cross-in-square, three-aisled, four-pillared structure with a single dome and three apses, which was built in 1207 by foreign merchants on the site of a wooden church and named after Saint Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, the patroness of Novgorod's merchant community. Following restoration carried out in the 1960s, the monument acquired its present appearance. It now houses the Museum of the History of Novgorod Architecture, which is open to visitors from May to October with a break from 13:00 to 14:00.
