White Lake Museum
About museum
The Limnological Museum of White Lake offers visitors a comprehensive presentation of the history and nature of this area. In the first hall visitors can see materials on bird migration, weather conditions, minerals and rocks, as well as on specially protected natural areas. The 'Forest and Its Inhabitants' section features predatory animals and birds, and the 'White Lake' section illustrates the lake's hydrological regime, fauna, and climate. In 2018 a new exhibition, 'The Tsar's Fish Yard', was opened, where visitors can play fishing games, learn about fish delivery routes and the preparation of traditional recipes. Another hall displays minerals and rocks, and master classes on weaving fishing nets are also held. The museum showcases the beauty and diversity of the animal and plant world, traditional forms of natural resource use, and the current ecological problems of this water body.
