The museum was opened in 2003 and is dedicated to Baron Munchausen. Here you can learn about the origins of Erich Raspe's famous book "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen", as well as about the life of the prototype — officer Hieronymus Karl Friedrich von Münchhausen. You can also view the baron's illustrations and hunting trophies, and obtain free e-books about Baron Munchausen's adventures. Information is provided for visitors about how a new character appeared in world literature — the "young Baron Munchausen" — and about the book "The Adventures of the Young Baron Munchausen" by his descendant, the writer Vladimir Nagovo-Münchhausen.
