I.K. Bazhenov Mineralogical Museum
About museum
The Mineralogical Museum of Tomsk State University was founded in 1888; its collections contain more than 30,000 specimens representing 600 mineral species and varieties. Especially valuable are the collections assembled in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by renowned scientists, engineers, and gold-industry professionals. Mineral specimens and objects are continually donated to the museum by TSU faculty and students, as well as by graduates of the Faculty of Geology and Geography. The museum's collections are used for educational, scientific, and outreach purposes. Anyone interested — including researchers, university students, and other visitors — can view its exhibits.
