About museum

The museum hosts various exhibitions, lectures, celebrations, competitions and other events. The Regional Museum of the History of Zakamye and the City of Nurlat was opened in June 2002 and began operating under the name Historical and Local Lore Museum of the Nurlat District. In December 2003 it was granted the status of Regional Museum of the History of Zakamye and the City of Nurlat and occupies two and part of the third floor of the City Palace of Culture. The museum's area is 1,232 sq. m, and its collection comprises more than eight thousand exhibits. There are halls with different themes, such as the history of Nurlat, district agriculture, nature, archaeology and ethnography, horses, athletes and the sporting achievements of the Nurlat district. The museum organizes various events, including exhibitions, lectures, celebrations, competitions, etc.
