Mikhaylovsky Historical Museum
About museum
In 1979, a branch of the Regional Museum called the Mikhaylovsky Historical Museum was opened in the town of Mikhaylov; it was created on the basis of a school museum. The main reason for its opening was the battles fought by local troops against the Nazi invaders in 1941. The museum also established exhibits dedicated to the heroic actions of the young tractor operator of the Chapayev collective farm, Anatoly Merzlov. In addition, the museum displays exhibitions devoted to the ancient history of the town, in particular the fortresses of Ivan the Terrible.
