About museum
In 1858, as part of an officers' library, the V. E. Rozov Intersettlement Local History Museum was founded, becoming one of the oldest in the Far East. The exhibition presents ethnographic exhibits, rocks, minerals, plants, and household items of the indigenous peoples. Military Governor P. V. Kazakevich supervised the museum's activities. In 1944 the Lower Amur Regional Council decided to organize a regional museum in the town. Exhibits from the Tugur Museum were transferred to it, consisting of 755 different items and 108 copies of local history literature. At present the museum displays an ethnographic collection of cultural and everyday life objects of the indigenous peoples of the Lower Amur. The organization continuously implements new forms of work and develops programs for visitors.
