N.N. Aseev Memorial Museum
About museum
S. A. Khukhrin, a local historian from Lgov, was the initiator and organizer of the museum's establishment and also its first director. It was opened on October 15, 1988 as a branch of the Kursk Regional Museum of Local Lore. In 2014 it again received branch status. The exhibition is dedicated to the life and work of the well-known Soviet writer N. N. Aseev (1889–1963). The museum is located in the house where he was born and lived until the age of 17. It displays documents, the poet's personal belongings, and household items that were popular in the late 19th — early 20th centuries. Of particular significance is N. N. Aseev's library, many books from which were donated by writers and figures of science and art with their autographs. The museum's collections number more than 18,000 items, and it is visited by approximately 6,000 people each year.
