Memorial apartment of the poet M.K. Lukonin
About museum
In Volgograd there is the only literary museum in the country dedicated to the well-known poet and public figure of the USSR Mikhail Kuzmich Lukonin. It was opened on October 25, 1978 in the house the poet called "Volga House", where an apartment was allocated to him by decision of the city executive committee in 1962. The museum displays items that belonged to the poet during his lifetime, as well as gifts from his friends and contemporaries, authors' autographs, gifts from abroad, and a personal library with the poet's books of poetry and prose. The museum's holdings comprise 2,309 items, and the exhibits are regularly supplemented with objects, photographs and documents donated by Mikhail Lukonin's widow.
