Mamontovsky District Local History Museum
About museum
\r\nIn 1980, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the village of Mamontovo, the museum was established at the initiative of the first secretary of the district party committee, Fedor Demyanovich Ivankov. For two years the museum's exhibitions were housed in the district House of Culture, and then it was moved to a separate building (now the treasury is located there). The museum features many sections that allow visitors to learn about the history and development of Mamontovsky District. It is an important socio-cultural and educational center of the district, and each year it receives more than 11,000 visitors. Its work includes exhibitions, tours, lectures, meetings and other events. The museum cooperates with other cultural centers of Altai and also provides exhibitions from its own and private collections.
