The Museum of Nature was founded in 2007. It is located on the territory of the 'Galichya Gora' Nature Reserve. The museum's exhibition comprises 10 sections. Information about the geological past and the region's natural and climatic characteristics is presented in the sections: 'Stratigraphy and Paleontology', 'Climate', 'Relief and Landscapes', 'Soils', 'Surface Waters'. The species diversity of the flora and fauna of the reserve and the Lipetsk region is described in the sections: 'Mycobiota. Species Diversity of Fungi. Rare Species of Fungi', 'Flora', 'Vegetation'. Dioramas hold a special place in the exhibition, giving an impression of the unique localities of the Lipetsk region that are part of the reserve and the most valuable objects protected on their territory. A separate hall is devoted to the history of research of the region and the creation of the 'Galichya Gora' reserve. It features unique photographs and documents from the late 19th to early 20th centuries, information about the scientists V.N. Khitrovo and S.V. Golitsyn, and reflects the stages of the reserve's establishment. Next to the museum, at the reserve's central estate, are living exhibits of the open-air museum: an alpine rock garden with rare plant species, a birds-of-prey nursery, and an apothecary (herb) garden.
