Krasnokamsky District Local History Museum
About museum
The process of creating the District Historical and Local History Museum began in 1995. At its opening it consisted of a fairly modest exhibition of artifacts and illustrations reflecting the history and everyday life of the residents of Krasnokamsky District, housed in an adapted room of the "Yubileyny" cinema. In 2000 the museum received a new permanent address in a specially allocated building. Today it comprises five halls with unique exhibitions, rich in content and presenting the material systematically. The first hall displays materials from excavations found in the district, as well as mammoth fragments. The second hall features a collection of minerals from the Ural Mountains and colorful dioramas depicting the district’s plant and animal life. The third hall is dedicated to the 19th century, and the fourth to the Great Patriotic War.
