About museum
The Ubinsky District Local History Museum was established on October 7, 1999, under the Department of Public Education. It is housed in the old building of a vocational school (SPTU) attached to an eight-year school built in 1958 that survived a fire. The museum's director was Vorozhko Albina Ivanovna. Over the 10 years of the museum's development in the Ubinsky District, its exhibits came to include samovars donated by Ubin resident Kuts Mikhail Petrovich. On May 9, 2005, the museum opened to visitors. On an area of 235 sq. m there are 7 exhibitions. The museum has collected about 7,000 exhibits, among which the largest collections are numismatics, phaleristics, philately, documents and photographs. The museum also features a collection of hand-woven linen rushnyky (ritual towels) gathered from local residents. The museum hosts engaging displays, vibrant exhibitions from its own collections and from regional museums, commemorative gatherings, and has become a cultural center for people of all ages and generations.
