Local History Museum, village N. Takanash
About museum
In 1960 a 'local history circle' was organized at the school to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Tatar ASSR. Its members, calling themselves the 'Young Historians' under the leadership of A. Ganiyev, decided to create a school museum. In 1965, in honor of October, a 'Local History Museum' was opened in a separate building in the village of Takanash. It lovingly preserves examples of folk art: embroidered towels, hand-woven tablecloths, valances, clothing, household items, numismatics, documents, books, photographs and much more. The museum also exhibits materials from the Great Patriotic War donated to the museum by veterans, their wives and relatives. For visitors, the museum holds literary and musical evenings, organizes travelling exhibitions, master classes, lectures and quizzes conducted in Tatar and Russian.
