About museum
The Ilya Glazunov Gallery is a unique artistic and cultural-educational center in Moscow. It houses more than 700 works of painting and graphics donated to the state. The exhibition features historical paintings, lyrical landscapes, portraits of cultural figures, biblical themes, illustrations for works by Russian writers, and set design sketches for classical operas. At the center of the exhibition are the monumental multi-figure canvases 'Eternal Russia', 'Mystery of the 20th Century', and 'The Great Experiment'. The gallery also displays well-known paintings such as 'Russian Icarus', 'Russian Beauty', 'Lord Veliky Novgorod', and 'Tsarevich Dmitry'. Visitors can also see brilliant illustrations for works by famous authors, as well as Old Russian icon painting, wooden sculpture, cast copper icons, and folding icon panels (skladni) from various periods. All of this was saved from destruction by the artist.
