Historical and Cultural Complex "Slobozhanshchyna"
About museum
The historical and cultural complex houses five exhibition halls and a cinema hall. The first hall presents information about the settlement of the southern outskirts of the state, which took place at the end of the 16th century. It features reconstructed costumes of a streltsy (musketeer) and an artilleryman, weapons from the 16th–17th centuries, and more. The second hall introduces the life of the Russian–Ukrainian population of Slobozhanshchyna. The third hall offers a stroll through market rows with a range of goods from the 19th to the early 20th century, and multimedia projectors help convey the festive atmosphere of the fair. The fourth hall is dedicated to the history of the village of Kolotilovka and the labor and military exploits of its inhabitants. In the fifth hall you can visit the restored office of the kolkhoz chairman to understand the working environment in which decisions were made. To explore the exhibition you can use a guide or view everything on your own; explanatory texts are provided in each hall.
