About museum
On April 10, 1972, the city executive committee of Naberezhnye Chelny adopted a decree to establish the Museum of the City's History and the Construction of KAMAZ. Today the museum is located in a two-story building and offers visitors a chance to learn about the city's history from ancient times to the 1930s and about the events of the Great Patriotic War. The first floor features an exhibition dedicated to the construction of KAMAZ, the New City and modern changes in Naberezhnye Chelny. On one and a half floors of the museum there is information about the city behind the front lines, its residents, heroes and participants of the Great Patriotic War, as well as the damming of the Kama River, the construction of the Nizhnekamsk Hydroelectric Power Plant and a unique collection of radio receivers. The museum presents the history of the city and the construction of KAMAZ in an engaging and accessible form.
