Belokalitvinsky Historical and Local Lore Museum
About museum
\r\nIn 1998, a Historical and Local Lore Museum was opened in Belaya Kalitva, located in a 19th-century building constructed in 1886. Previously it housed a Cossack school, and after the October Revolution — City School No. 1. At present, the museum presents collections that reflect the history and culture of the peoples who have lived in these lands since the Stone Age, as well as the flora and fauna of the Don region, and geological and paleontological collections. The museum displays more than 300 paintings by local artists, and an exhibition called "Cossack Yard" has been set up in the courtyard. Visiting the museum helps to better understand the region's past, get acquainted with interesting people and their traditions, and also helps to shape a civic stance.
