About museum
On May 8, 1985, the Kavalerovsky Local History Museum was opened as a structural subdivision of the municipal autonomous institution “Center of Culture, Leisure and Library Services” of the Kavalerovsky District. It features themed displays that allow visitors to see the unique nature of the Ussuri taiga, an archaeological exhibit, historical and ethnographic halls, and the wealth of minerals and natural resources in the geological exhibition. The museum also includes the “Life and Works of the Writer I. U. Basargin” collection and the “On the Heroes of Bygone Times” exhibits, as well as a maritime exhibition. The museum hosts guided tours, lectures, meetings with interesting people, and master classes in various artistic techniques and forms of decorative and applied arts. The exhibition hall presents permanent, solo, collection-based, and traveling exhibitions, and the museum also arranges traveling exhibitions for cultural and educational institutions across the district.
