About museum
In 1989 a historical and local‑history museum was opened in Kadom; in 1991 it was awarded the status of a "People's" museum. In 2010 it was renamed MBUK "Historical and Regional Studies Center" of the Kadom Municipal District and is located in the building of the former secondary school. The centre's main tasks are the preservation and promotion of the region's historical and cultural values, as well as conducting research, providing guided tours to visitors, and holding various events. The museum collections consist of archaeological and ethnographic materials, Russian antiquities, and extensive materials on notable local figures. The centre focuses on studying and presenting the centuries‑old history of Kadom and its uyezd.
