Yelets Art Museum
About museum
The museum has an antique shop.
In December 1981, an art department was opened on the former Trade Square, which is today known as Lenin Square, in a historic building dating from the late 19th century. In 1987 a permanent exhibition from the museum's collections was installed in this building, including works of Western European and Russian painting of the 18th–20th centuries, graphic art, sculpture, and applied arts objects such as ceramics from Russian and foreign factories, colored glass pieces, and decorative furniture of the 18th–20th centuries. On the first floor temporary exhibitions are held featuring works by contemporary artists from Russia and abroad, as well as masters of decorative and applied arts, photography exhibitions, and displays from the local history museum's collections. The museum also operates an antique shop. Thus, the museum is a source of knowledge and inspiration for people of all ages.
