Sarov City Art Gallery
About museum
The City Art Gallery is a contemporary space where people can become acquainted with the traditions of Russian art and new trends. It opened in 2008, but the collection itself was assembled as early as 1968. It now features over 1,000 works by such well-known artists as Sokolov-Skala, Shcherbakov, Kupriyanov, Nechitaylo, Sudakov, Lavrenko, Konchalovsky and Abakumov. The permanent exhibition displays more than 40 works. The gallery hosts exhibitions, programs, master classes, Sarov plein-air events, marathons and symposia, as well as classes for children and adults. In 2018 the museum's cinema-concert hall was digitized; it features films about artists, museums and other works of world cinema.
