Grayvoron Historical and Local Lore Museum
About museum
The municipal state-funded cultural institution "Grayvoron Historical and Local Lore Museum" was established on August 7, 1996. The main exhibits were taken from private collections of residents and from school museums in the district. It is a scientific-research and educational institution engaged in acquisition, preservation, study, and promotion of monuments of natural history and of the material and spiritual culture of the Grayvoron region. Currently the museum collection consists of more than 11,000 items, of which about 10,000 constitute the main collection. The core of the museum's holdings comprises unique ethnographic and archaeological exhibits. Museum staff are continually adding to the collection items of everyday folk life, works by masters of traditional crafts and trades, and audio and video materials on the region's traditional folk culture. Thus, the museum collection is constantly expanding and strengthening.
