State Museum-Reserve 'Phanagoria' - branch in Sochi

On July 9, 2021, the first permanent representative office of the State Museum-Reserve 'Phanagoria' was opened in the Science and Arts Park of the federal territory 'Sirius'. The exhibition presents unique artifacts from the excavations of ancient Phanagoria: painted pottery, amphorae, terracotta figurines, precious-metal coins, and early Christian relics. In addition, visitors can view historical reconstructions of ancient interiors, a multimedia reconstruction of the city, and interactive tablets that provide information about trade and craft production in antiquity. Scientific laboratories will be added to the branch in the near future, where those interested will be able to receive professional training, and there will also be master classes and lectures by specialists from institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and universities participating in the Phanagoria expedition.
