Museum in the historic center of St. Petersburg is an interesting and diverse museum complex dedicated to events and tragedies that took place in Russia. It includes two Art Nouveau architectural monuments, the houses of ballerina M. F. Kshesinskaya and Baron V. E. Brandt. The central exhibition "Man and Power in Russia in the 19th–21st Centuries" allows visitors to see the main political events of two centuries. The exhibition "The Soviet Era: Between Utopia and Reality" tells about party leaders, NKVD officers, dissidents and representatives of the underground. The working room of V. I. Lenin has been reconstructed. In addition, the museum offers visitors many exhibits, documents, photographs and video clips that allow a complete immersion in the history of Russia.
