About museum

Classical Photography Gallery — a museum and exhibition space founded in 2011 by a group of Moscow photographers. The gallery caters both to connoisseurs of fine photographic art and to the general public interested in the cultural values of Russia and other countries.

On two floors of the gallery space — in the small and large halls — the best works are exhibited by both domestic and international masters of past centuries as well as contemporary artists.

The collection of the Classical Photography Gallery is an assembly of original author prints of world-class caliber. The core of the collection is formed by works of American landscape photographers Ansel Adams (Ansel Adams), John Wimberly (John Wimberly), Jody Forster (Jody Forster), John Sexton (John Sexton), Alan Ross (Alan Ross), Bob Kolbrener (Bob Kolbrener), Jack Nixon (JackNixon), Clyde Butcher (Clyde Butcher), and Christopher Burkett (Christopher Burkett).

The total number of works in the collection is more than 200. Among them, the most valuable are original lifetime prints by Ansel Adams, the oldest of which dates from 1928. A special place in the gallery’s collection is occupied by the works of Christopher Burkett — the world’s finest photographer working in the direct slide-to-print technique (Cibachrome).
