Yelatomsky Local History Museum
About museum
Currently the Yelatomsky Local History Museum is a place that attracts people who want to gain knowledge and spend time with friends. Here you can take part in city and museum tours, as well as in educational interactive programs such as introductions to museum professions, immersion in traditional peasant life, a Yelatma-style tea party, and more. During school holidays master classes in decorative and applied arts, photography workshops, book lovers' gatherings and city walks are held. Working with volunteers, the museum develops up-to-date programs and events. For example, the #WeekendAtTheMuseum_EKM program offers children, teenagers and their parents the opportunity to spend time playing board games, socializing and exchanging information. The museum's main exhibition tells the history of the town and also displays its household items, clothing and jewelry from the medieval period. The museum also hosts traveling exhibitions from museums of the Ryazan Region and thematic exhibitions about Yelatma.
