About museum
Since 1911 the Yegoryevsk museum of the Moscow Region has displayed a fine collection of historical exhibits, including a variety of glass and porcelain, bronze, copper, carved bone and wood. A multiple winner of the All-Russian competition 'The Changing Museum in a Changing World' and a nominee for the 'European Museum of the Year — 2010' award, it offers visitors many interesting projects and programs such as 'Light Extravaganza', the seer's predictions, the singing book, a journey to the land of Glassland, and ancient festivals like Christmas (Nativity of Christ), Maslenitsa, Ivan Kupala, a Russian wedding, name-day celebrations and cabbage evenings. Visitors can enjoy the play of light and glass, meet the inhabitants of an old mirror and sit by the samovar in the Fireplace Hall.
