In the winter months of 1968 the Krasnobakovsky Historical Museum "Trubetskoy House" was opened. Previously the building belonged to Prince Trubetskoy and served as his estate. It was built by a local priest with skillfully executed decorative masonry, Italian-style windows and an impressive porch. From 1917 to 1923 a school operated here, and later the district executive committee. In 1962 a second floor was added. For 12 years local historians, district veterans, school pupils, students of vocational colleges and the forestry college collected exhibits for the museum. Many unique finds were acquired, such as tools of prehistoric people, photographs, letters, books and bones of ancient animals. The museum holds more than seven thousand items in its main collection and over three thousand items in its scientific and auxiliary collection. Particularly noteworthy are the rich collection of ritual towels with black-and-red embroidery and the collection of women's clothing from the 19th–20th centuries.
