Chusovoy Museum

In 1967, at School No. 11, I. V. Zvegintsev created the first local history museum in the town and district. On assignment from researchers in Perm, the museum conducted archaeological surveys and excavations with schoolchildren. The museum's collections contained more than 1,000 exhibits. In 1975 the museum was transferred to the Chusovoy Metallurgical Plant, and in 1977 it opened in a new premises. Today the museum holds more than 20,000 items, including a local history exhibition, the interactive exhibition 'Archaeological Triangle' and the unique exhibition 'History of the Rear Hospital', which tells about the people who restored the lives of the wounded during the war. Visitors can learn the history of the Chusovoy lands, try their hand as researchers and view photographs of the hospital from 1941–1945.
