About museum

The Historical and Local Lore Museum aims to restore historical ties and to acquaint the younger generation with the natural and cultural characteristics of their native region. In 2015 the museum moved to a new building. The main concept of the museum is to coordinate all types of educational activities for the district population using modern computer and information technologies. The museum's goal is to develop historical, cultural and creative thinking, as well as to broaden the informational outlook based on respect for one's place of birth and residence. The museum presents topics such as: the nature of the native land, paleontology, archaeology, ethnography, the Civil War, the formation of collective farms, the Great Patriotic War, the 1950s, the post-war period, notable people of the district, internationalist soldiers, numismatics and the achievements of the Chishminsky district during the years of perestroika.
