Buguruslan Historical and Local History Museum

The Buguruslan Local History Museum is one of the oldest museums in the Orenburg Region. It was opened in 1930 at the initiative of Alexander Leontyevich Anikhovsky, a paleontologist and archaeologist. The museum is located in an old 19th-century stone building that is an architectural monument. It houses more than 25,000 exhibits, including ethnographic items, ancient books, archaeological finds, weapons, furniture, clothing and household goods of the peoples of the Volga region, samovars and bells. Particularly interesting are the dolls and doll clothing of the 19th century. The museum has an exhibition hall where exhibitions of works by artists and masters of decorative and applied arts are regularly held.
