Silver Age Library of the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve

About museum

The Silver Age Library was opened in 2005 in one of the city's historic buildings. It houses books by poets and writers who lived at the same time as Marina Tsvetaeva, such as Boris Pasternak, Osip Mandelstam, Nikolai Gumilyov, Anna Akhmatova, and others. In addition, the library has literary and biographical studies. Cooperation with the A. I. Solzhenitsyn Russian Public Fund allows the library's collections to be supplemented with rare editions. The library features a 'Literary Salon' with a cozy hall and modern equipment. It is a meeting place for the creative intelligentsia. In 2015 an electronic reading room of the B. N. Yeltsin Presidential Library was opened, providing free access to archival documents on the history of Russian statehood and to video lectures on various topics. Each year the library is visited by more than five thousand people. The library building is a locally significant cultural heritage site.
