Artemovsky Historical Museum

About museum

Artemovsky City Historical Museum was founded in 1967, opened to visitors in 1969, and its first director was Ivan Ivanovich Antropov.
\r\n
\r\nSince 1978 the second important stage in the museum's life began — its revival. The collection of funds and the organization of a new historical exhibition, opened in 1982, were undertaken by Olga Markovna Martynova (now an honorary citizen of the city of Artemovsky, author of several local history books). In 1984 the museum's work was highly praised and the museum received the title 'People's'. From 1989 the museum became state-owned, and since 1997 — a municipal institution.
\r\n
\r\nIn January 1996 a new exhibition hall of 111 m² opened at the museum. This allowed the museum's cultural and educational activities to be raised to a new level, and the museum began to play the role of a historical and cultural center.
