Artemovsky Historical Museum
About museum
The Artemovsky City Historical Museum was founded in 1967 and opened to visitors in 1969; the first director was Ivan Ivanovich Antropov.
Since 1978 a second important stage in the museum's life began — its revival. The gathering of collections and the organization of a new historical exhibition, opened in 1982, were carried out by Olga Markovna Martynova (now an honorary citizen of Artemovsky, author of several local history books). In 1984 the museum's work was highly appreciated and the museum received the title "People's". In 1989 the museum became a state institution, and since 1997 it has been a municipal institution.
In January 1996 a new exhibition hall of 111 m² was opened in the museum. This allowed the museum's cultural and educational activities to be raised to a new level, and the museum began to play the role of a historical and cultural center.
