О музее
The building of the Yadrin Art and Local History Museum is a monument of history and culture of the peoples of the Russian Federation. Previously it housed an eye and surgical clinic built in 1911 by the merchant-philanthropist N. Talantsev. The well-known surgeon K. V. Volkov, Hero of Socialist Labour and Doctor of Medical Sciences, worked in this building. On December 23, 2011, the museum was officially opened. The ground floor of the building houses an art gallery featuring works by artists from the Volga region, Moscow, Saint Petersburg and nearby foreign countries. Also presented are two exhibition halls, the 'Office of Chief Physician K. V. Volkov' and the 'Operating Room', with exhibits from the late 19th century. The first floor of the museum also contains exhibition halls on the ethnography, history and culture of the Yadrin area. The museum continues to be replenished with new exhibits, offering visitors new exhibitions and interesting events.
