A Fine Fellow in a Kaftan, a Maiden in a Sarafan

The exhibition is dedicated to Russian folk costume. It offers a deeper understanding of the important role costume played in people's lives.\r\n\r\nVisitors will see an archaic peasant costume that long retained its uniqueness. It illustrates only a small part of folk dress but provides an idea of its variety and beauty. The exhibition presents peasant clothing from the Mozhaysk and Vereya uezds of the Moscow Governorate at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. Exhibits from the Naro-Fominsk Historical and Local History Museum will underscore the shared features and interconnection of garments from our region.
