In the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, the exhibition hall of the A. I. Kuprin Museum is displaying an exhibition about the writer and his family during the years of the First World War. From the black-and-white photographs a 44-year-old man looks out at visitors — a man who loves his Motherland unreservedly and decided to volunteer for the front. The museum staff have prepared material for visitors about the Kuprins' house in Gatchina, where a hospital for the wounded was opened. The great writer and his whole family offered their assistance to the Fatherland. The exhibition prompts visitors to reflect on the fact that every conscientious citizen should make a contribution to the common cause in difficult times for the Motherland.
The photographs eloquently speak of A. I. Kuprin's patriotism, his love for the Motherland, and his eagerness to defend the Fatherland in the difficult moment of 1914, during the hard periods of the war. The event is held as part of a program for the patriotic education of the younger generation.
