High school students examined the presence of Radishchev's image in Pushkin's work

In the general education school of the village of Radishchevo a themed program «Pushkin and Radishchev» was held for the 225th anniversary of A.S. Pushkin's birth and the 275th anniversary of A.N. Radishchev.

Staff of the A.N. Radishchev Museum introduced the students to interesting facts from the life of the writer, philosopher, and educator of the 18th century A.N. Radishchev and the great poet of the 19th century A.S. Pushkin, as well as to their creative activities.

The program noted that the names of Pushkin and Radishchev, which our people are proud of, can rightfully be mentioned together. The ideological and creative meeting of these writers was historically natural. Radishchev is the pinnacle of progressive Russian culture of the 18th century; Pushkin is the founder of the new Russian literature: he was also the main source of acquaintance with Radishchev for readers of the 19th century.

Participants were told what influence the revolutionary views of the writer-humanist had on the work of the poet-lyricist.

High school students viewed books by A.N. Radishchev and A.S. Pushkin from the museum's collections and read excerpts from their works.

Then the students were invited to take part in an intellectual quiz game on this topic. The pupils actively communicated with each other, were curious, shared their knowledge and reflections and, in the end, coped with the tasks well. It is pleasing to note that the students demonstrated excellent knowledge.
