Exhibition “Know Our Own! From the GTO Badge to Olympic Medals”
About exhibition
At the exhibition visitors will meet the legendary Misha, the Olympic mascot of the Moscow Games. They will see the torch from the Sochi Winter Olympics. A separate section of the exhibition is devoted to our outstanding athletes from Tver: Viktor Kapitonov – the first Soviet Olympic champion in cycling, and Antonina Seredina – two-time Olympic champion in kayak rowing. In the display cases are GTO badges and insignia from the earliest to the most modern, which belonged to well-known Tver masters of sport: Ya.I. Telegin, M.P. Kashin, Yu.M. Mikhailov, V.A. Chestny, and others. Unique documents of the DSO “Urozhay” are dedicated to the “Star Run.” Russians were the first in the world not only in space: Kalinin was the first in the USSR to host an international ice motorcycle racing championship. The exhibition runs until March 1, 2026, in the building of the Children's Museum Center (3A Sovetskaya St.). For inquiries: +7 (4822) 45-71-76
