Voskresenskaya Picture Gallery
About museum
The history of the Gallery's creation and the formation of its collection is unique. It is located in the center of the village of Voskresenskoye, Meleuzovsky District, Bashkortostan, on the bank of the Tor River. Nearby are the ruins of the famous Voskresensk copper-smelting plant and the Voskresenskaya Church. Here is the former house of the physician Ergard Ivanovich Korleis (1870–1927), which, fortunately, has almost completely preserved its historical appearance. The core of the Gallery's collection is a 1970 gift: 126 works by Moscow artists who were former students and teachers of the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Moscow State Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov, who were evacuated to the village of Voskresenskoye in 1941–1943. The authors of these works are world-renowned artists: Geliy Korzhev, Pyotr Ossovsky, Viktor Ivanov, Vladimir Stozharov, Igor Popov, Alexei Tkachev, Andrei and Sergei Tutunov, Valentin Purygin, Ivan Arkhipov, Viktor Babitsyn, Ruslan Kobozhev, Oleg Butkevich, Andrei Marts, Boris Nemechek, Klara Vlasova, Taisiya Skorodumova.
