Vorotynsky District Local History Museum

About museum

On March 16, 2020, a museum was registered in the settlement of Vorotynets, and on June 24 of the same year its official opening took place. The first exhibition focused on the contribution of Vorotynsky District residents to the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Over the years the museum has held many interesting exhibitions, including 'Demidovs: Deeds — Not Words', dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Nikita Demidov's acquisition of land; 'Artists from the People', devoted to the development of amateur theatre in the district; 'Fauna of the Native Land', presenting animals and birds; and 'The Crafts of Our Ancestors'. In organizing the exhibitions the museum received support from the Bank of Russia, the Mordovia State Nature Reserve, and the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Russian Geographical Society.
