Ust-Ishim Local History Museum
About museum
In 1970, enthusiastic teachers opened a museum cabinet at the Ust-Ishim school to collect materials on the region's history, and eight years later the museum moved into a separate building. Today it houses more than 5,000 exhibits, of which the most significant is the archaeological collection (over 1,200 items). The museum has permanent exhibitions dedicated to the discovery and study of the Ust-Ishim Man's bone, paleontology, archaeology, ethnography, and the history of vanished settlements in the Ust-Ishim district. Visitors can also view temporary exhibitions organized by the museum monthly.
