About museum

On November 7, 1990, the Kuzhener Historical and Local Lore Museum welcomed its first visitors. Its history is connected with the former Kuzhener Women's Monastery: today the museum serves as a focal point for preserving, studying and promoting the historical and spiritual heritage of the Kuzhener district. The collections comprise 6,951 items, as well as several exhibitions, including the Hall of Glory and the study of V. M. Regezh-Gorokhov. The museum regularly hosts exhibitions, festivals, tours, master classes and museum lessons. Each year the collection expands with new exhibits.
