About museum
The main attraction of the village of Ust-Tsilma is the A. V. Zhuravsky Historical and Memorial Museum, located on Narodnaya Polyana (People's Glade). In 1963 the museum was established by the efforts of the Ust-Tsilma community, and it originally displayed wooden household items, copper utensils, mammoth bones, hunting rifles and objects of Old Believer culture. Today the museum is an important destination for tourists and visitors to the Komi Republic. The museum's collection contains more than 30,000 exhibits presented in permanent and temporary exhibitions. The museum offers guided tours, interactive activities for children, theatrical performances, engagements, weddings, naming ceremonies and youth events. The museum also has a department of folk arts and crafts that produces souvenirs and runs master classes. The visitor center welcomes guests, provides information and sells souvenirs dedicated to Ust-Tsilma and the museum.
