Princess Dashkova's Estate
About museum
The estate of Ekaterina Romanovna Dashkova is one of the few historical sites associated with the first woman to head the Russian Academy of Sciences, who took an active part in compiling the first explanatory dictionary of the Russian language. In the right wing of the 18th-century manor house there is an exhibition that tells the history of the lands on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland from ancient times. In addition, you can see a unique landscape and architectural monument — the Peterhof Road, along which an aristocratic dacha suburb of Saint Petersburg developed. A significant part of the exhibition is devoted to the history of the Kiryanovo estate and to the life and activities of its owner, Princess E. R. Dashkova. This place will leave you with unforgettable impressions and help you understand the history of Russian culture.
